They do not throw the light as regular lights do but they are bright. They really looked nice with twinkling white lights. We use LED lights as well and, like Beth said above, for the wreath on our front door is use some battery operated LED lights as well. To maximize energy savings I am going to use the first time this year some solar powered LED lights on some hedges in our front yard.
